A few weeks ago I got a call about doing a single hanging piece, so I thought I would take this opportunity to show some more in progress photos.
The glass I am working with for this piece is called a striker. When fired, this glass gains a richer, bolder color. I love the aesthetic change the glass undergoes once I get it in my kiln.
Here are the same pieces assembled and wrapped. Notice how much darker the glass became once it was fired. I love the contrast with the copper wire and playing in these warm tones.
I really enjoy creating these one-of-a-kind pieces and want people to know that I design for all shapes and sizes. Think of these window pieces as a pie: you can order a single slice or, if you're feeling daring, an entire pie! And there is no limit to how many pieces you can order in your pie.
Thanks as always for stopping by and checking out my latest creation. Please feel free to reach out to me here or at firstname.lastname@example.org for questions, comments, or general wonderment. Happy spring everybody!
